COMPANY HISTORY
EDGE Document Solutions LLC is a new company with a long history. Now an independent company, EDGE Document Solutions grew out of Allison Payment Systems (APS), a 117-year-old printing company. Founded in 1888, APS grew out of the oldest payment coupon printer in the country.

and a desktop laser printer that used special toner, the system was able to print magnetic characters used on bank checks that passed American Banking Association standards. Purchased by the Coupon Division of Cummins-Allison in 1991, this software package was copyrighted, and it became the basis for a range of laser printed products that are sold under the name EDGE, an acronym for Electronic Document GEneration. The initial EDGE offerings were directed at small to mid-sized companies for accounts payable and payroll checks, linking the software to a myriad of financial system products that include Oracle, Dun & Bradstreet, Lawson, SAP and other top names in the financial software market.
Eventually the applications were expanded to include invoice creation applications as well as purchase orders, explanation of benefits, lease disbursements and many other laser printed documents. Today the EDGE product line addresses a wide range of significant markets including legal firms, accounting, education, utilities, clothing, manufacturing, banking, and not-for-profit foundations.
On Jan. 4, 2005, the EDGE management team purchased the assets of the Allison Payment Systems EDGE business unit and formed EDGE Document Solutions, LLC. With business partnerships created during the past several years that focus on education, EDGE Document Solutions, LLC has become a major contributor in software development to the financial business administration area as well as the student reporting administration areas of many school districts across the country.
